Good at Losing--Bad at Maintenance

Monday, March 25, 2019

Well. I'm back. Without trying, I have gained 17 pounds. So, I'm going to nip it in the bud right now. I'm still reading the setpoint theory book. I haven't applied it though. This may be what I have to employ.

I had gotten down to 168 pounds. Today I weighed and I am at 185--WHAT? HOW? Well it just means I have to get back on the horse and get it off. I suppose this is part of maintenance, but wow, how hard.

I am going to get down to 175, by April 30. Then I will see if I want to get down to 165. I don't know. I was happy with being between 170 and 175, but maybe 165 will give me a buffer.
This time I will be exercising more to maintain the weight loss. I think that is what happened. I hate exercising and will find any excuse, or distraction to avoid it.

Lord I am depending on you again

Maintenance is more difficult than losing. Like you, I gained some weight back after reaching my goal. On the second time around, I realized that I must continue to do those healthy things that I did while losing weight. I been maintaining my weight (+/- 5 pounds) for over 2 years now. You got to keep on sparking.

Yes....you can and you will do it by doing exactly what works for you and ditching whatever caused the 17 pounds to return! Can you try a fun class at the Y or fitness center, walk for 10 minute increments, try a Leslie Sansone video? Good luck as you return to the path of healthier choices! emoticon
