Day 29/231 to go/week 5 - Wakeup Call

Sunday, March 17, 2019

Oh dear. I was doing so well and then fell off the wagon. Eating and checking in with SparkPeople. On Friday I had some preventive health screenings done and everything was good except my weight (which I expected AND MY BLOOD GLUCOSE! I never had a glucose reading of 144! That’s diabetic. A year ago it was 105. So that scared me. I immediately made an apppointment to see my family doctor and to have another round of bloodwork done to make sure nothing happened with the reading. They used a finger prick rather than vein for the blood. I also researched weight management programs and our local medical center has a non-surgical program. I am going to a free intro meeting tomorrow morning! I also began to research how to eat to get blood glucose down and changed my diet immediately. And today I got back in SparkPeople! Nothing like a medical result to scare the daylights out of you and motivate you to get back to work!

Good way to start St Patty's Day. Today is what's important. Wash "yesterday" away! You're starting with a clean slate today!!! I don't know if these ideas might help with your glucose but I'm like 50# overweight...I drink 2 cups of Yogi Green Antioxidant tea every day. The place where I get my supplements, Life Extension, said having a glucose of 5 people would die for. Was told the tea probably had something to do with it and to keep doing whatever I'm doing. My sister takes a cinnamon supplement every day because her glucose runs high due to medication she explained. She thinks her cinnamon supplement helps keep her glucose stay more under control. These aren't Dr. suggestions or cleared by any doctor but I know people are always looking for little secrets that help. You can always try...see what you think about either.. You take care yourself and don't beat yourself up! We all can only do our best...sometimes we have a bad bump in the road...but we keep going and forge ahead!
