March Weigh-in! :)

Monday, March 11, 2019

Today is my 4 week weigh in. When I set my goal to be 186 lbs by today (in the app that I record all my daily weigh-ins), for some reason I was thinking that my last weigh-in was 194, which would mean I was aiming for a 2 lb loss per week. Turns out that my last weigh-in was 194.4 lbs, and my weight this morning was 185.8 lbs... which means I lost 8.6 lbs in the past 4 weeks! If you look at my last blog post, most of my monthly (4 weeks) weigh-ins are just under 8 lbs. So I am super happy today!!! That brings my total to 64.2 lbs lost since June 16th! No, not "lost"... GONE! Because I have NO intention of finding them again!

I'm especially happy with this weigh-in because I have an appointment with a new primary care physician on Thursday. You better believe I'm taking my notebooks in- in which I've written down everything I've eaten, how much water I drank, how much sleep I got, my glucose numbers, my weigh-ins, etc- since August 22nd. I want this doctor to take me seriously because *I* take my health seriously. My last PCP was awesome and so unbelievably helpful but she moved out of state. The 2 doctors I've seen since then, however, were not so good, and I refuse to settle for just any doctor. I'm hoping this one on Thursday is a keeper!

I did find it humorous that no more than a day or two after my last weigh-in blog, where I mentioned that I had plateaued for a week or so and would be ok with a lower number this month - seriously not 2 days had passed before I dropped what appeared to be just water weight - a pound and a half overnight. Teaches me to speak too soon!

But I can honestly say that I really was ok if my weightloss was slowing down. I expect it to eventually. (But hopefully not yet!) And I'm glad I was ok with it. (Even though it ended up being just retained water.) It proves to me that this time really is different than every other time I've tried to lose weight. I'm going to write a blog soon on the reason I know this time is different - what makes it so different. What changed. But it's going to take time to write, and I need to put thought into it. So maybe in the next few days.
