A Well Used Lunch Hour

I am tired today. My son (18 months old) is not a fan of sleep and therefore, I don't get much as a general rule. I am part of a challenge right now and I have decided challenges are the way to go. They help me remain focused and give me baby step goals to strive for that all connect to my goals: to change my relationship with food and my lifestyle.
So, today would be a great day to make an excuse not to exercise. I can pretty much talk myself into or out of most anything, especially on 3 hours of sleep. I had read an article this morning on bodyweight exercises and decided that was how I would spend my lunch. So, I spent about 20 minutes during lunch performing body weight exercises. I had planned to complete 10 minutes but after I got going, I just kept going. I'm still very tired but I am tired at an accomplished level due to following through with exercise.
I was ready a blog this morning from @GTNHEALTHY about walking the grocery store. The days I don't want to stay in the office, that is what I do! I go to the store and commit to 15 - 20 minutes of walking and do it!! I chuckled as I read about her son's dismay at her lapping the store multiple times. This is a way I have been successful in getting others in the family out of the house and moving, to invite them to go to the store with me. It doesn't work all the time but it works enough that I don't necessarily have to ask anymore as they will volunteer!
I love that post - I've seen it many times - that even if you are moving slow, you are still lapping everyone on the couch! I remind myself of that when I want to be critical of myself for not doing well. I also use my son for overhead lifts. He's like my own personal weight that giggles with use! So, I get to play with him and workout at the same time. It's a Win, WIN!!
