Last 3 months Check-Up

Saturday, March 09, 2019

So how am I doing? I feel like I'm losing my weight maintenance mentality and my weight is slowly creeping back up. (sadness) I have been super busy the past few months but life happens. I need to work harder to stay sharp.

We have had LOTS of company lately. We got my mom and dad moved into their new home, and there have been many times I was either babysitting contractors doing work for them or helping them with new doctor appts. Unexpectedly, my dad has been in the hospital twice as well. The second time, I'd spent the whole night awake for my granddaughter's birth (such sweetness!) and just when i was getting into bed, I needed to take my dad to the ER. It's just life and the things we do for the people we love.

I have maintained my framework of taking my multiple vitamins, drinking at least 8 glasses of water and eating at least 5 servings of produce AND tracking all my food during this craziness. I've done okay there. Where I have failed is in my planning. I have pretty much stopped trying to stay in a certain calorie range. I allow myself certain foods for snacks but I've noticed that lately I eat them every one of them EVERY DAY!! (bad idea)

My weight has stayed between 131.1 and 135.5 during the past 3 mos but since my goal is 132, it's time to take a hard look at my habits and choose where I want to go from here. Do I want to continue to eat too much and regain my 30-35 lbs lost? I DO NOT!! On the plus side, I"m still within my +/-3% range (barely at 135.5) AND this is THE LONGEST I have ever maintained a weight loss since I joined Sparkpeople about 10 years ago!!! Woohoo!!!

As I'm going through today's list of what has to be finished to receive our next wave of guests this afternoon, I put 15 minutes of Spark time on my list so I'd have a few minutes to stop and think. You know the old saying...."If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail"

I KNOW what to do, I just have to DO IT!!! emoticon

Hi and big emoticon to maintaining for so long. That is a really big win. Celebrate your success.

Life does interfere sometimes and makes it easy for us to sneak in some extra snacks and you are fully aware of what you're doing. And you do not (and will not) regain the weight.

You know what to and emoticon
We're all here to cheer you on.

I do think you're doing remarkably well staying so close to your goal weight. It is very difficult with a lot of extra things going on. Soon spring will be here, and that's always a good time of year. As the person said before me, take care of yourself! .... emoticon
