Mangoes are back on the menu!

So, I'm having a mango for the first time since 2007. I had one back then and it was tart, it had bite to it, I'm thinking maybe I ate the skin, because it was horrible. I looked up whether or not to eat the skin because I really didn't know whether you're supposed to or not and I found out that although the skin is nutrient dense it also - OHMIGOD - contains urushiol - the same chemical found in poison ivy/poison oak, which I am highly allergic to! Thank God I didn't eat that. The fruit, however, DELICIOUS. A pain in the A to get to (next step = research how to slice a mango), but so so good. I can't believe I've gone 10+ years without eating one.
