On day 5 I blew my goals for the challenge at the church fellowship dinner. I usually do pretty well on the main course and get one plate and don't go back for seconds. My temptation comes with dessert. Knowing I was going to face this again today, I told myself ahead of time I could have a dessert...any dessert I really wanted....but only ONE serving. I not only met that goal, but I found myself choosing more wisely even the things I put on my plate for the main course. I started with a big salad, chose baked beans over cheesy dishes, and whole grain bread over white. I did not overeat. And that piece of homemade coconut cake was delicious!
