February Summary - "Death and Travel"

Many people say that the only two things one can count upon are "death and taxes." I beg to differ when it comes to events that mess with a healthful routine. This past month it was death (my beloved aunt's) and travel (to and from the out of state funeral.)

When the wind is whipping a cold 40 mph, it just doesn't make walking in place at the gasoline pump seem worthwhile. When many relatives at the wake have prepared family specialties that remind one of happy times with the deceased, is one really going to say, "Not my food?"

Life goes on.

Mileage goal: Jog or run 12 miles weekly.

Week 1 - 15.28
Week 2 - 12.90
Week 3 - 13.27
Week 4 - 8.51 death and travel

Training Goals:

Speed work - 3 of 4 runs
Hill work - 3 of 4 runs
Long Run - 3 of 4 runs
Strength training - 2 of 8 sessions
Cross training - 3 of 8 workouts ( one rowing, one elliptical, one recumbent cycle, no swimming)
