Live Today To The Fullest As Tomorrow Is Not Promised

Wednesday, February 27, 2019

You've probably heard the saying before that you should live everyday as if it were your last. Well, that is absolutely true! Make each day count because you don't know if you will have a chance to do something tomorrow. Don't put off to tomorrow what you can start today.

My teenager daughter was at work yesterday and a customer had a medical emergency. It was the first time she had come face to face with something like this. There was EMS and CPR was being performed. The man is on life support but it's unknown if he will survive. She was pretty shook up when she was telling me this story which led to a conversation about the fact that none of us knows how many days we have on this Earth. It got me to thinking "Am I living every single day to it's fullest potential?" Most of us probably aren't as we are caught up in non-essential things like social media, television, etc.

Take a step back and assess your daily life. Do you take each opportunity that comes around to tell the ones you love that you love them? If you were to die today, would you have unfinished business with someone? Take the time today to make sure that each and every day is given your full attention. Don't spend today worrying about what you should've done yesterday or what you need to do tomorrow. Tomorrow isn't promised and yesterday is past. Today is all that matters.

I try to get as much done in a day as I possibly can. Since we never know what tomorrow has in store if there is something I could/should/need to be doing - I’m on it!

Life is very fragile and no one has a promise for how long it will last. It is important to live each day as we get them to the fullest. Stay close to those we love and do our best at what ever we are doing.
I hope this experience will help your daughter and not harm her. Praying her faith will be strengthened.
