The Reframe...

Wednesday, February 27, 2019

When negative thoughts show up it's important to reframe them. You know, those things I say to myself that provoke guilt or tell me I'm bad or failing. Every failure is an opportunity to do it differently next time. That is a real thing. So, when I catch myself speaking harshly to me, "You shouldn't have eaten that!" "What have you done!" "This isn't working." I stop, review, and shift. "You overdid it but it's not the end of the world." "Let's look at how this happened and where I got stuck." "What can I learn from this to do better next time I'm faced with a similar situation." Viola! I go from being bad to a student of myself so I can develop strategies for coping without overeating or skipping the workout. This works for me. I know I can shift my thinking to the positive where I don't blame, I accept and learn. Happy Wednesday Everybody!

We all have those little voices in our head and sometimes it's really hard to shake them out. If you learn to eat in moderation, some of those voices will go away. Have a super Wednesday!
