February 26, 2019 WE NEED WISDOM

Feeding our bodies is important for good health. Not just any food but food that will help us to feel better and have more energy. Feeding our minds is just as important. Knowing what to read and listen to will help us be more alert and motivated. Feeding our minds with the right things will help us make better decisions and change our attitude. The more we put into our minds that is good and helpful, the more information we have to put it into practice, and the wiser we become. The Bible has the words to help us in all areas of our life. God’s word will give us the wisdom we need to have a healthy mind.

Proverbs 24:13-14 “My child, eat honey, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to the taste. In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.” (NLT)

1. Write what you know about wisdom.
2. List the ways you seek God’s wisdom.
3. Know God wants you to find and apply His wisdom.
4. Remember a great life is when you apply God’s wisdom to your life.

Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to remember to exercise our minds by reading Your word. We pray You will help us to remember to apply Your word to our lives. We know we can gain wisdom by reading Your word and living according to Your will. We will have experiences in life where we will have to decide which way to go. Help us to have the wisdom to turn to You and Your word so we will have a healthy and satisfying life living in obedience in and trusting You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

True wisdom comes from God. Let’s choose to seek His will and read His word so we will know what He wants us to know about life.

James 3:13 “If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.” (NLT)

When we seek God’s word and remember it by applying to our lives, we will have a satisfying and healthy life.

Proverbs 3:1-2 “My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.” (NLT)

God tells us wisdom will help us live a satisfying and healthy life.

Proverbs 9:11 “Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life.” (NLT)
