At what point do I "naturally" stop counting weeks? At some point I stopped counting days... but I don't remember when. I'm sure at some point I'll stop counting weeks, too. Just pondering what will trigger me to stop counting weeks and wondering if I'll start counting months... or will I just stop counting?
On the flip side... Late last year I came up with a timeline and a game plan for when I'll retire. It hinged on a lot of things: being the healthcare provider for my kids, ditto for my hubby. After factoring in their timelines (can only keep kids on my healthcare until the age of 26, and hubby is older than me and will be eligible for medicare sooner than me), as well as the dates at which I can maximize my retirement pension, I came up with the earliest possible date that I could retire which will take advantage of all the things I'm trying to juggle. It's a ways off still. But my point, and the reason I mention it here in this blog is because RIGHT NOW I am counting the YEARS... At some point, in reverse of my Sparking counting, I will start counting months, then weeks, then days, then hours..... and it's a natural thing. It's not something I will do "intentionally." It's something that I do as a way to wrap my brain around something I am working on.
And..... at some point and with some "journeys" the counting doesn't even come into play. When I stopped eating sugar last year, I never even counted Day 1. I couldn't even tell you what MONTH I stopped eating sugar. It was just something I decided I needed to do and I did it. I focused all my energy on that one thing and that thing only. And I just DID it. Weird. It seems like it would be the kind of thing that I would count days for. But it wasn't. Like I said, either I do it or I don't and it isn't forced. It just happens or doesn't.
Humans are goofy, aren't we?
