You are beautiful, you are perfect just the way you are!

As an MRI technologist, I start many IV's so we can give contrast and one of the questions that I need to know is "How much do you weigh?" Invariably, people, male and females always answer "too much!" Of course we chuckle and talk about their weight after that.
What is interesting to me, is that sooo many times, even when we are at a very healthy weight, we long be be at an even lower weight. I know for myself, even when I was at my lowest, I wanted to weigh 5 lbs less.
Why is this? Why do we see this reflection of a very healthy person, and yet we still want to weigh less?

I was talking to a coworker about this as well and she was talking about weighing 80 lbs less. This person is a very tall woman and would not look good if she weighed 80 lbs less as she would look like a walking skeleton.

So instead of wanting to keep getting thinner and thinner, I have decided that I will look at it as wanting to get more toned and to continue to stay healthy.

Look in the mirror each day, smile, find a part of your body that you love, compliment yourself, and keep trying to be the best you that you can be. Don't let the number on the scale define you, don't let it ruin your day.
Instead, take a breath, and say "today I will do my best!"
You are strong, you are beautiful, you are perfect.
Just the way you are. We can always continue to get healthier, but just remember that today is never going to be here again. So love yourself today and every day just the way you are!

If you are here on SP, I know you are trying. We will fall down, we will have good days, we will have bad days, but the key is to keep on getting back up and trying again.
