No time for me

Wednesday, February 13, 2019

I make time to take the kids to practice, to care for me husband after surgery, to look after my aging parents, to keep the house clean, care for animals, laundry, and work a part time job, the only thing problem is no time for me. I get up to get the kids and husband off to school and do my chores, work and supper and several practices, and when my head hits the pillow, I'm out. How to make time for me a priority, how can I keep pouring from an empty cup as the quote stated? At 329 pounds I had better figure it out. I don't want to be the mom walking across the field on senior night feeling the eyes of everyone staring looking like this. I don't want to be the mom selling tickets that can't climb the bleachers, can't sit in a school desk, can't sit at the cafeteria table? So off to drink my water and figure out how to link my Fitbit and spark people account and will keep posting to keep from snacking, anything is worth a shot, off to make time for me!

It is hard, being a Mother, homemaker... we end up with our needs coming last.

But a healthy diet benefits everybody, so perhaps start there?

Welcome to SparkPeople. We are all here for the same reason, no matter what our personal story is. We are here to help each other to get to that healthy point we want to be in our lives. It is not going to be easy, but it is attainable. Make small goals and they will lead to big successes. You have to make you #1 and tell yourself that you are worth it. And remember you didn't gain the weight overnight and you won't lose it overnight. It takes time, determination, motivation and support. You can get it all right here! If you don't take care of yourself you can't take care of anyone else. If I can help in anyway, feel free to reach out to me! You can do it! We are here to help! Welcome and get active on this site. emoticon

Just don't quit. Figuring things out always takes way longer than I think it should and it can feel discouraging. I have learned to celebrate the wins and try again for the rest! You are what they call the sandwich generation - you have young children and are taking care of aging parents. Seems more like a vice than a sandwich sometimes I bet.
