Update and thanks

Wednesday, February 06, 2019

On Monday evening as I was leaving gym parking lot a car came speeding down from a parking spot and T-boned my car on my side of the car. After moments of shock and disbelief I was able to open my door and look at the damages. I was just in shock and felt nothing for awhile but then the pains set in. I went to ER and they kept me in observation until they did X-ray and just precaution and I went home around 3am. with lots of drugs for pain and muscle spasms. I was told to except more pain to get worse before it got better. And follow up with ortho.

Tuesday was a day of no rest because both insurance companies kept calling for statements and information. So I was again just on the phone constantly. Finally after 5 pm I fell asleep until today.

Wednesday- woke up after sleeping like 11 hours but my neck and shoulder are so sore. I just took my meds so this will make me drowsy and sleepy again.

Still having to deal with insurance to get rental. My car was damaged so bad I am happy I wasn’t hurt more. It will take about 3-4 weeks once they check it out and determine if it can be repaired.

So I have been home and my son has been taking care of me due to fact that my DH is out of town and I told him to stay and take care of work.

I want to thank my wonderful team members (Teddy Bears) for all your prayers, comments, goodies and words of support. I appreciate each and everyone of you. emoticon emoticon

Oh Bibi...this is a HORRIBLE accident! How careless of the other driver...was she a member at your gym also? People drive like total maniacs here in FL. Our consignment gallery is on a VERY busy highway but cars speed along like it's the FREEWAY...NUTS! I won't even chance pulling out into traffic after dark I'm too much of a fraidy cat. I've been in WAYYYY more car accidents than I ever care to remember!

Rest up my friend and I hope you get another car...driving a car that got t-boned seems like you should get another one...I hope your insurance company is a good one and fights for you!

Sorry this happened and glad to hear you did get checked out with X-rays and emergency care. Something similar happened to me in 2017. I wasn't wise and didn't go to the hospital for checking and then the next day realized I had pain. My Airbag had bruised my Sternum and for 5 weeks it hurt to breathe. It was longer trying to find a car similar to the one totaled at the price the insurance was allowing. Wishing you a fast recovery from the pain and patience for the other part of this situation. Take your time dealing with everything especially the insurance. emoticon

I'm so glad your son is home with you and not still in California so you don't have to be alone.

Be cautious with the car. With today's cars, the frames aren't as sturdy as the old clunkers and are easily knocked out of whack. Happened to my nephew and the damage had seemed slight but the car was considered totaled.

    Hope this gets over soon.

Insurance companies can be a great blessing and a horrible nuisance! Honestly, you'd think they had sense enough to leave you alone for awhile so you can rest and get your strength back. I am happy to hear that you had some good rest last night. That's exactly what your body needs. I think those pain pills do that on purpose because we can't heal without rest! Take care of yourself.
