It's really hard to write this blog entry, especially after yesterday. This week has been very stressful and draining, and it's only Tuesday! It's not all bad stress; some of it is because our library programs are popular, or because our clients are starting to come in for tax season (one of my other jobs), or because I have lots of wonderful family and friends and things to do with them which is great and I shouldn't complain but today? Today I really missed junk food. So I'm going to try to do something relaxing that doesn't involve food.... maybe a nice bath?

So. 3 good things.

1. We had almost 30 people (including parents and other adults) at story time tonight. I was going to do a sensory activity with construction vehicles and a big shallow plastic tub of dirt and rocks, but at almost the last minute scrapped it and we made "watches" out of cardstock, tp rolls, and brads. The kids adored them and were adjusting the hands to numbers they wrote on themselves, and it filled my heart with joy to see how much they loved those darn things!

2. Thin dressing for salads. It's dumb, but I like it and it saves on calories. Some of the restaurants I've worked at thin certain dressings out with water, and turns out I actually prefer it that way. It's not everyone's cup of tea (or tablespoon of ranch) but it works for me, especially since I'd rather have a soupy salad than a dry one.

3. I have a loving, supportive husband and family, but also a tub, some bubble bath, an evergreen candle, and a tablet with Alexa to play me music in the tub. Time to learn to relax without food.
