New Scale Thoughts

Sunday, February 03, 2019

My employer has a new health benefit where I qualified for a free glass scale and an online program to track weight and food and such. The software says by weight and height that I am pre-diabetic, though no blood test has said so. The scale arrived yesterday and I stepped on it this morning. Up about 1.75#. Part of that is the cold that I have had for nearly 3 weeks. The cold meds plugged me up and balance issues kept me from exercising. I also, for most of the time, had no appetite. I now have to weigh every day. bleh.

I did some stretching and some light kettlebell weights, but my balance isn't quite reliable yet.

Still, it feels good to be on the mend!

Hope you feel better soon that is a long time to be sick. I agree only a blood test will determine you are pre-diabetic. And all that means is you have elevated blood sugar levels, but not enough to need medical intervention. Certainly no website can tell you this. It is nice they have a health plan and you got a scale out of it. I wonder if you will get rewards for reaching weight loss milestones..

I would be very skeptical over the online information, saying you are pre-diabetic.
That is determined by blood tests, and while my husband is type two diabetic, his
doctor told him there is "No such thing as 'pre' diabetes. He said they either are or
they aren't, there's no in between. That makes sense to me too. I am glad you are
    feeling better.
