Some of you experienced the recent polar vortex. I have to admit I did kind of have fun messaging my husband in Pucallpa, Peru about the temperatures I was experiencing here
because Pucallpa is 8 degrees south of the equator (my city is 43 degrees north thereof) and in the tropical rainforest region, with average temperatures in the 90's during the day.
Anyway, Tuesday at work we were all talking about the possibility of school closing, not from snow, but from cold.
My school district closed schools on Wednesday and Thursday. I, for one, enjoyed the extra 2 days off. Not that I still didn't WORK. On Wednesday I gave the house a thorough cleaning - dusting the tops of doors and windows, sweeping, and mopping.
(Rosie my cat did not help.)
Then Thursday I baked banana-nut-raisin muffins'
and then I made a yummy cheesy potato corn chowder.
Well, having done all that cleaning and cooking mid-week, I had no excuse not to do some kind of art project today. I have tried to maintain the practice of doing something artsy every Saturday - didn't get to it last week though. Anyway, I do have a special order for 4 dogs; and my cousin requested a sheep. I did inventory of my farm animals today and discovered that, while I do have a good 10 GOATS, I have only 1 ram and 1 lamb. SO...Besides the 4 dogs, I will also stock up on some sheep.
But not right away...after I fortify myself with some of that yummy soup!
