Well, January was certainly the month that never seemed to end...the days have dragged on for eternity! Nevertheless, I did meet many of my goals. Worked out at least 4 days a week....watched what I ate and didn't mindlessly snack (despite wanting to eat my feelings on several occasions)....drank enough water to fill a swimming pool (got in way more steps than usual from running to the bathroom every 5 minutes) and didn't allow work-related foolery work me into a complete frenzy. Subsequently, I am down 5 pounds since the new year! I feel good and didn't have to kill myself to see progress...small changes are working for me as I refrain from "dieting" and just focus on better choices without pressuring myself. Admittedly, I ate cake and ice cream at some point throughout the month (refrained numerous times as well as we had 6 birthday lunches this month)....gorged on crab legs a time or two (my kryptonite)....but as I posted previously...I'm forgoing extremes.,,I'm the tortoise in this race and am looking to make sustainable changes. In a nutshell - despite January being the most boring, mind-numbing month in awhile....I rocked it out just the same!
