I was pretty proud of myself during the holiday season. Even though I wasn't tracking everyday, I was making healthy food choices and exercising regularly. Then Christmas came and I got sick (something I'm still trying to shake completely - it comes and goes) and it got cold out so exercise happened less frequently. I have trouble wasting food and I had a TON of Christmas cookies left over from parties that I felt I had to eat out of my freezer before I could focus on healthy eating in earnest.
But I made a decision.
Enough was enough and I didn't need to put anymore of the sugar that was making me feel so sluggish into my body. So I threw away the rest of the cookies.
I know, so sad, right?
A strange thing happened though. After experiencing some rather severe sugar withdrawals over the next few days (who knew a lack of sugar made you nauseous) I felt, much, much better. And two weeks later, I'm down six pounds.
I haven't hit the gym in earnest, but I've made time for some strengthening exercises six days a week. I'm hoping to get some good cardio in starting tomorrow (I always rest on Sundays).
My plan is to check in next Sunday, if I am able. Keep SPARKING!
