Starting again but weight is still gone

Wednesday, January 23, 2019

When I started on Sparkpeople, it was very new. It says 2009 on my page but I'm sure it was earlier than that. I was 240 pounds. Then I was 234 pounds for many years. Five years ago, I got down to 200 pounds but then my daughter went through martial problems, serious illness and my grandkids got epilepsy and autism. Not to mention the stress of being a politician. I went up to 226 pounds. Now after retiring and stabilizing of family problems, I am 212 pounds and back to working with Sparkpeople.
Last week I sent away all my 2x clothes to the diabetes drive, deciding that I am now permanently 1x and xxl. Soon I will be back to Large. I shop now in regular stores.
Yes it is taking a long, long time to lose weight. But I am 65, so no longer have to worry about being skinny, just looking after my health.

I've been here since 2006. I've lost 90 pounds twice, (and gained it back twice) and am currently 75 pounds down from on Round #3. I always say, there is nothing wrong with failing, as long as you don't give up. emoticon

Yes, I can relate. I'm 62 and feeling good, being healthy, and managing to be independent is most important to me at this stage of life.
