A New Week and A New Challenge for Stress Busting

Okay, I am supposed to pick two stress-reducing activities that I can incorporate into my day, which will help me as I navigate this Stress Busting Challenge. Here is what I have to choose from:

1. Walk
2. Call a friend
3. Journal
4. Play a board game
5. Exercise and work up a sweat
6. Plan something fun
7. Take a hot bath

Here are the ones that I have been doing for quite some time:

1. Walk

3. Exercise and work up a sweat

Here are the ones that I don't see me doing and why:

1. Journal ~ I am not a writer all of the time and I don't like putting my thoughts on paper or on the computer. It's just a chore for me to do that even though I do this here in SP Land.

2. Play a board game ~ When I am FRUSTRATED that is the LAST thing that I want to do because it frustrates me even more and all I want to do is throw the game across the room.

3. Plan something fun ~ I am not sure I understand how to do this anymore. If someone else does the planning I am able to go and have fun but for me to plan it, YIKES!!!

4. Take a hot bath ~ I am not able to get in and out of the tub any longer and besides I am not a bath person.

I will keep incorporating the three that I have highlighted that I am able to do and it does relieve my stress when I pour myself into either of those and concentrate on that alone. I can feel the relief now!!!

Since this journaling has made me a bit antsy, I will get on my Gazelle in front of the TV to keep me from having any more stress today!!!

    I would have loved to add other stress reducers and busters to my list but according to the directions that were given I was to read the article and choose from the seven options that were given to me. I understand that it isn't a complete list but I chose to follow the directions that were given to me so I could keep in line with what the challenge is supposed to help me with.

    I appreciate everyone's feedback and rest assured, those stress busters that I wrote down are not all that I do that soothes that savage beast.

    I 2nd soothing music as a destressor. I am not a whole lot of creative, but I can play my piano.

    It is good that you've found the things that work for you. That is what it's all about.

    Listen to soft music would be on my list, even the CD's you can get of birds or water or just nature in general. But again to each there own. I find just sitting and petting my kitties is calming. And reading which is my escape from the everyday life. I also am trying to do some major de-cluttering.

    I see some great destressing going on but I noticed a few missing that are on my go-to list. One is scented candles in the house, Two is a fire or fireplace, Three is water, ocean, lake or river. I hope you find your path to some calm and peace.
