2019

Saturday, January 12, 2019

I guess it's been a while since I did a blog. There's not a lot change from last year -still live in the same house with the same husband and still have a weight problem though I have learned to keep the weight scale from going up. We still have 3 daughters, all married now. Our oldest has no kids but she and her husband have cats instead. Our middle daughter is still a nurse at the local hospital-her husband retired from electrical work and is now working with a friend in a job that allows him different things to do. Their kids are now 17 & 15. Our youngest daughter has given us 3 granddaughters who are 3,2 and 4 months. They do help me get a little exercise in running around our backyard.

We haven't traveled a lot but did get to spend a week in western PA. Larry also made a mission trip to Cuba to provide the church with supplies. In June we'll be driving to Washington D.C. to bury my uncle's ashes in the National Cemetery. He definitely earned a spot there. We'll get to enjoy time with extended family members.

I think my husband is starting to pick up on why it's important to lose weight so it's a bit easier for me to stick to a plan but since his retirement it's hard to get to the gym without all kinds of questions emoticon How many times do I have to explain I'm going to the gym? It's easier to stay home which doesn't help my health. Speaking of health,I have several pages of paperwork to fill in before going to the dentist on Monday.

It is a big deal to learn how to keep the scale at bay even if you aren't losing. Exercise is important although I am not a big fan. I wish you weren't getting the resistance!

If he ever goes to the gym he sits in the car or in a chair just inside the door. He's talking about seeing more of the D.C. area this summer when we're there but he can't walk more than a few minutes at a time which leaves me waiting for him to catch up.😞

Love that idea of his having to go with you every time he questions you on it---LOL--at least my dh enjoys and goes to the pool with me.

Maintain commitment. When he see's that you are committed to a mission with an end result of better health, living longer in order to see those grandbabies graduate, get married etc. It will click.

I have a suggestion that you will probably roll your eyes at, but I am going to suggest anyway, simply because I can LOL. When your DH starts questioning you about the gym, tell him he has to go with you to have all his questions answered. You can probably get him in under a trial or as a guest. Now here comes the good part. When he is exhausted, tell him EVERY time he questions you about the gym, he HAS to come with. It will either stop the questions or if he goes willingly it will help his health too.

Congrats on not having the scale go up and also pushing through the frustration of having to explain yourself for going to the gym. He'll get it eventually. Keep pushing forward!☺
