11 - Getting things done on Friday - Jan 11 2019

This has been a day of getting things done. My daughter has applied to several universities and colleges for 2019 and the financial aid applications are surprisingly complicated (and due next Tuesday). So I spent a lot of time getting it all finished (and not all of it is completely finished!). I am surprised that the financial aid process is so difficult. I am a fairly educated, literate person who is familiar with paperwork and red-tape but -- even for me -- the documents were tough. It makes me wonder how other families, who might not speak English as a first language or who may have less experience with paperwork, cope with this process. It has been an experience (not a fun one though!).

My husband has also been busy getting things fixed around the house. It turns out that so much wiring and internal things need to be done that we are going to end up having to re-paint the inside of the house again. As annoying as the cost will be I am actually quite excited to pick new wall colors!

As for my day -- well I am still keeping on top of tracking my food and being mindful of what I am eating. That doesn't mean that I always make the right choices but I am trying harder.

DAY 11 - Jan 11 2019 – UPDATE
Achievements:

Had black coffee at breakfast
Had chia seeds in water for a snack
Had watermelon, cucumbers and carrots for a snack
Had chickpea fritters and salad for dinner
Meditated 10 minutes
Yogilates for 20 minutes
Had herbal Hibiscus tea for evening tea time.
Limited myself to 2 ginger snaps at evening tea
Drank all my water!
Stayed away from pasta and rice
Stayed away from white bread
Stayed away from soda
Stayed away from alcohol
Sparked
Blogged

Challenges:
Didn’t go on morning walk
Had quite a bit of cheese at breakfast (!)
Didn’t swim
