Biggest Loser

Friday, January 11, 2019

So...I work at a dance studio and someone came up with the idea of having a biggest loser contest. So whoever wants to participate puts in $20 and whoever loses the most weight wins the pot. Well, there are 3 places and they're going by percentages apparently. I got in. It because I wanted to actually be held accountable for what I'm doing by someone other than myself. And having the others know my weight and see what I'm doing, is enough to get my butt in gear. So I had to weight in Thursday night. Now, according to their scale, my starting weight was 176. When I weigh myself at home it's in the morning, no clothes, before I eat, etc. When I weigh in there, I'm fully clothed, it is 8pm and I've been eating all day. So of course theres going to be a difference. So I don't let their numbers discourage me. However, when i weighed in this week i thought for sure i gained because i had a rough start and i haven't been able to get to the gym because i babysat for my cousin. To my surprise.....i lost 1/2 lb! Even though it wasnt much it was something, a victory in the right direction. So I was happy. And when you have those little victories it helps push you a little more to keep going and to try a little harder. Which it did.
Today a snow storm was suppose to hit. I had 2 doc appts and I wanted to go to the gym afterwards since I didnt have to babysit. However, my mom (who is my ride) had other plans and the snow came early which cut everything short. So I came home and climbed under the covers and took a nap then watched some t.v. Then I got to thinking about that 1/2 lb. If I keep doing what I was doing that 1/2 lb would disappear. So I looked up some home workouts and found a program I can do and I can even do it if I go back to the gym, So I got my butt up and did the lower body section for the 1st day of the workout. Then I did my squat, push up, and crunch goals that I set for myself everyday. I felt a lot better afterwards! And it put me over my step goal! I'm making my goal this week to lose 1lb when I weigh in Thursday. I know I can do it. I've done it before i can do it again! It just took that little push to make that little change which will snowball down into something big. I can't wait for the end result! My favorite line from Rocky Horror Picture Show - " Don't dream it, be it!"

You are doing great! I just can’t think about the end result - I need to lose another 40 lbs to be at/under my goal. I decided that rather than think about the end result I am just going to focus on doing the right things and try to stick, especially, on eating more plant-based foods. I would, ultimately like to eliminate all meat so that is what I am focusing on, for now.

But you are doing great and are looking really good! Whatever you did to lose what you have so far is definitely working! Just keep at it and you will decidedly get where you want to! emoticon emoticon
