My Grandmother was wise beyond words. She always told me that the older you get, the faster time goes by. I wholeheartedly agree with that statement as each year passes by. She is now my guardian angel who I miss dearly. I try my best to live a life that would make her proud. For those of you who don't know me too well, she was more like a mother to me as I lived with her and my grandfather off and on my whole childhood. My grandfather passed away suddenly just before my 18th birthday. I was blessed to have my grandmother another 20+ years after he passed. She lived by herself and kept busy with quilting, playing games, and attending church. Except for 2 years when we were first married, we lived next door to her. My daughters cherish their childhood memories of going to grandma's house. I remember one time, my oldest was going to move out when she was about 8 or 9 years old. I asked where she would go and she said that Great-Grandma would let her live there. I told her that was fine except she couldn't take anything with her that she didn't pay for herself. She decided that no clothes or coat in the middle of winter wasn't such a great idea after all and decided to abide by the rules and stay home. She made an impact on so many during her 97 years on this Earth. This past Sunday, a lady in our Sunday School class shared a memory of when my grandmother taught Sunday School and how she helped her through a rough patch. I miss her dearly!
