My Old Waling Buddy

Sampson will be turning 14 on January 18th, which just happens to be my dad and late grandpa's birthdays. I honestly thought his walking days were over, as were mine, but I honestly think we've both had new life put back into us. Me with the chiropractor visits since February, and him with a vet visit today.
He had been showing his age with not moving all that well, and struggling to get up more and more each day. I had started giving him special chews, but even they were not doing enough anymore.
So, today, we went to the vet. She told me that he was one of those cases where the heart was young, but the body was giving him fits. But he still had a lot of life still left in him. With that, he has been prescribed prescription strength joint medication, pain medication, and Apoquel shots, that I have to give him each week.
So far, after the shot and a pain pill, he is a spunky monkey! He's been chasing the other two pups around the house as if he were 8 years old again. I think with this, we'll be able to go for our walks, albeit short ones, once again.
