Just Be

Sunday, December 30, 2018

God gave me the phrase "Just Be" several years ago. I'm still trying to learn what He wants to teach me through these words.

I've tried many things along the way of my weight loss journey. Some have been successful for bit, but nothing has been long lasting. I get over burdened by being regimented because of the large family with which God has blessed me. Counting calories, logging in every day, keeping up with an exercise routine all becomes too much and then I totally quit! Well, I have been mentally thinking about the choices I make, exercising 3 -4 days a week, and have lost 7 pounds. Now, the progress has been slow, but definitely steady. I don't rake myself over the coals for eating a "forbidden" food; instead, I enjoy a treat now and then while making healthy food options a priority. I no longer agonize over getting in different types of exercise, I simply walk on the treadmill every chance I get. No stress, just keeping at it! While this may not work for everyone, this has helped me to not get frustrated when I lose my streak or when I simply can't get in the exercise or once again fail to stay in calorie range. What I do miss is the interaction with my Spark Friends!

Hoping this helps someone who is also struggling with being regimented! All I really need to succeed in this journey is Jesus!

I'm so happy that you've found what works for you! Being healthier is useless if we don't enjoy our lives, loved ones, and walk with God. Hugs❣️

Seems I've been "just being" for way too long as I've reverted back to my old habits now and the weight is increasing once again. Only have myself to blame and need to get back on track. At this point, I don't care how long it takes me to lose weight and get healthy as long as I'm heading towards that goal.

You're losing and that's a good thing - keep at it my spark friend. Yes, Jesus is all we need. Happy New Year and many blessings to you.

Very wise words. Having Gid as your rock is the beginning to great things, self and others. The more inspired by good acts. If it wasn't for my spirituality and trust in God, I think my life would be so unfulfilled.

I really like this. I have also struggled with having a very perfectionistic attitude, and it didn't serve me well at all. Once we are able to "just be".... it frees us up to have some flexibility.

    Good for you!!
