The next step....

The 6 week follow up appointment with the Dr yesterday (after shoulder replacement surgery) went very well.
He was quite concerned about the degree of pain I’m still having so he ordered 4 X-rays to make sure everything was good. And everything is perfect. He said he couldn’t be happier.
The pain will decrease now that I am out of the immobilizer sling and am allowed a greater degree of movement. Good news!
I’ve already started the new physical therapy routine he and the Physical Therapist set for me and it feels good!
If I continue on my present course, I should be able to reach 150 or 160 degrees of mobility!
How exciting is that?!!
So, I’ve traded in my old dancing partner (The immobilizer sling) for a therapy ball and an over-the-door shoulder pulley contraption to help stabilize my shoulder as I begin this exciting new phase.
So, here I go.... moving forward with new tools and fierce determination....and a good dose of caution.
Another step closer to wherever it is I am going.
Oh, and as a side note, although I was dressed in heavy clothing yesterday, the doctors scales showed me to have a 3 pound loss over the past eight weeks. How cool is that !
