2019 a year of hope

I ran into someone i worked with years ago yesterday and asked - how do you do it? Not knowing our year, or what we have been through or what we are facing. But the ability to care, be in charge of and do so much for another person. Her brother is mentally disabled and lived with his parents his whole life. They both died and she tried but couldn’t do it. She understands the expense of group homes, she has tried to work with our broken system and had to sign her brother over to the state. My daughters future if I can’t find a way to get the right person to care enough to help me change. To stand up and listen and help me help so many others. Our next step if we pursue is hire an attorney and take the state to court to prove she qualifies for DHS. Without her being on Medicaid we loose all benefits she should be receiving from cmh. We received 4 rejection letters and can’t talk to a person unless she is in the system. Another fight!
