New COPD med

Sunday, December 16, 2018

I just started Trelegy Ellipta on a one month trial and it works great. I hardly use my rescue inhaler at all now. With that positivity comes some negativity, it cost $609 a month here and $127 in Canada which is beyond my budget on SS retirement. I contacted the drug co. to see about a break as they do have them. I was told "sorry, you are over 65 and on Medicare, can't help you". My prescription plan doesn't cover it so looks like I will be back to Symbicort next month. I can't expect my Pulmonary dr. to supply me with free samples indefinitely. Next month when I see my dr. I will askhim to contact my prescription plan to see if they will cover it at I price I can afford with my copay.

Sorry I missed this blog. Left you a message re: lack of Medicare coverage we're dealing with here.

OMG! Really. I can't believe what this world has come to. I do hope you can get help. My mom & brother had lung cancer. I am glad you are a survivor.
I am sending prayers for a quick recovery. emoticon

That is rough! I had the same sort of problem with a previous insurance. Have you checked to see if there are any state assistance programs?

The Pharmacutical Companies are ROBBERS! These drugs do NOT cost that much to produce...they jusy know that they can charge astronominal amout$ , because people, or their insurance co, will pay because they need it!

The cost of drugs is a mortal sin against the Holy Ghost. People need this stuff to live. I have an Otezla prescription that costs $1165 per month with insurance, $3300 without. I can buy a lot of long sleeve shirts to hide the psoriasis for that money!
