The Angel Tree Party

Saturday, December 08, 2018

So we had the party today! I was very stressed last night because three of my volunteers contacted me and said they couldn't help because they had bad colds or the flu. So I got out my parish directory and started calling EVERYONE to find out who could help. I got five more volunteers in an hour, so I was feeling much relieved by the time I went to bed.

The party went really well. We had lots of people to set up and clean up, so that was really nice. We had four different crafts, sugar cookie decorating, and ice cream sundaes. You should have seen the huge bowls of ice cream some of the kids had! I took a really cute picture of one boy with his ice cream and a big smile! We had 23 kids (out of 60 total) at the party, and they all had a good time. This year, none of the kids wanted to open their presents. They all wanted to save them for Christmas day. I hope they enjoy their gifts.

I'm back to getting healthy tomorrow. I'm cooking an easy dinner tonight-- tuna salad with cherry tomatoes, olives, and onions. I'll have it with rye bread and a lettuce salad. Healthy and easy! Tomorrow I'm going to cook Forks Over Knives Roasted Red Pepper soup-- super duper yummy! I'm also back to walking tomorrow after church. I'm hoping to put in three miles, but it may be less as I haven't walked in about 10 days.

Have a good evening, everyone!
