If you're European, today is a palindromic date. I suspect other people use a date first convention, too, but I'm not sure where that might be.
Similarly, sports league standings in Europe use a different format, as in the case of English Premier League standings seen here:
Rather than the Wins/Losses/Ties format we're used to in the United States, which mostly comes into play if you're a hockey/NHL fan, that table is organized with Wins in the first column, Draws in the second, and losses in the last column. That makes a certain amount of sense, since you get three points for a win, 1 for a draw and none for a loss.
I've got nothing profound to say about this. Just kind of rambling on. Heading out in a bit to go watch a couple of those English soccer teams play, namely Tottenham and Leicester City. Very much hoping the result for Spurs will be better than what happened last weekend.
Also supposed to go to a holiday party tonight, supposedly an ugly sweater party. I've gotten rid of any ugly sweaters I might have had, because, well, because they were ugly, and I've totally failed to wander out to a thrift shop to obtain something for this event. Not much a fan of the concept, really. Kinda sorta don't want to go. But it looks like the shindig will be less crowded than events at this host's house usually are. And it seems like there will be a lot of the people I like, and fewer of the types that annoy me. I'll probably end up going eventually. Without any ugly sweater, though.
