A Busy Week!

This last week and a half has been crazy. I am in charge of a ministry at church called Angel Tree. It's a program where church members buy Christmas gifts for children who have a parent in prison. BUT, the presents aren't from the church, but have a personalized message from the parent in prison to the child, so they are actually from the prisoner, which I find neat. We are having a Christmas party for the Angel Tree kids tomorrow and I have been planning and planning like crazy! My church bought gifts for 60 kids, and I had to keep track of all the gifts and make sure we got all of them back. At the party, we're having an ice cream sundae bar, decorating sugar cookies made by one of the teens, and we're doing 4 different crafts: Christmas cards, tissue paper snowflakes (remember those?), and two other crafts that I haven't seen yet but were planned by another parishioner. I'm lucky that I had parishioners volunteer to bring everything, so I only had to buy tablecloths today. The thing I'm worried about is if I have enough volunteers to help at the party. We're expecting about 40 kids, and we only have 6 volunteers plus myself. I've spent the last week begging everyone I know to help! We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I'm excited for the party, but also ready for it to be done!
On top of this, I'm in finals season at school. I had one final on Thursday which was my hardest (it was for American Sign Language), and I hope I get a B on it. I have a second ASL final next Tuesday where I have to sign a 5-minute story I made up. I have been practicing it a lot and I'm feeling positive about it. I got my other final tonight, for my Principles of Accounting class. It's a take home final, multiple choice, and only 20 questions long. I'm hoping to crank it out Sunday after church so that I'm done with it. I want to be all done as of Tuesday afternoon so that I have 2 weeks off for Christmas. I start back to school on Jan. 2nd, so I need all the break I can get!
My weight loss journey hasn't been going well this week. I've eaten out three times, and I'm trying to eat out only once per week, but I haven't had time to cook, or I've been out so long I'm starving and I haven't remembered to make myself a sandwich to have in the car. I'm going to make a PB&J sandwich to take to the party tomorrow so I'm full and won't be tempted to eat anything. I've gained back 2 lbs. and I'm back up in the 200s after getting below 200 for about a week. I also have not had any time to exercise, so I'm determined to start walking again on Sunday after church. I want to walk 5-6 times next week and every week over break. I think when I start back to school I'll evaluate how often I should exercise based on my schedule. I'm taking 3 online classes and 1 in person class in January-February, so I should have plenty of time to exercise in the AMs. I'm also doing the Biggest Loser Challenge, and that's been super motivating to get me to eat healthy and lose weight. I haven't been doing so well on it this week, but I'm excited for next week.
