Historically amiss/The song that changed my life

I really should have saved the Animal House clip for today, this being the 77th anniversary of the Day That Will Live in Infamy. The follow on thought that the USA didn't start either World War I or World War II, instead jumping in a few years after the European types had already been slugging things out, led me to the somewhat non sequitur-ish thought that I haven't heard the song We Didn't Start the Fire in a while, which led me to YouTube and...
...and the thought that it's really weird that I've posted two Billy Joel songs in this space of the past week, because he's an artist that I hardly ever listen to. I mean, I'm a metalhead, with progressive rock roots. As I posted in the BLC off season thread, the (progressive metal) song Pull Me Under, by Dream Theater, is a track that literally changed my life, because hearing it on the radio back in 1992 not only set the course for a lot of the things I listen to to this day, but through associated mailing lists (among the first thing I sought out when I got on the internet), and subsequent trips to concerts and music festivals, that song is responsible for 50% or more of my facebook friends.
How about you, is there any specific piece of music that you can point to that you consider transformative to your life.
