Depression And Finding An Answer

I suffer from depression. For me it is not seasonal, it can happen year round. I have tried various things to stop the spiraling of my thoughts. Many people suffer from depression. At one time, it was considered a taboo subject. Society felt that there was something "wrong" with an individual that had an emotional issue. Many had to keep quiet and "live in the dark." Most of the bad things that I imagined could happen, were very far from anything that ever happened to me. I have found that meditation is a very good tool. Meditation can often lead to positive thinking. It can lift you from the cloud of darkness. I went to a therapist for 8 years. What an incredible experience. For me, I never imagined talking about my thoughts, issues, etc. to another individual. It took little time for me to realize that they really do understand. They have talked to many others that experience similar issues. It was so much easier than I would have ever imagined.

Do not fear talking to an expert for anything you experience. I have found that worrying about what others think is not important. Do what you can to find help.
