Snow days

Monday, December 03, 2018

With 6-9 inches of fresh, wet snow, church was
cancelled so I spent the day cleaning, shoveling
snow and helping DS decorate his tree. It was just
a small tree but at least it is up. He has never put
up a tree for himself but having the mental capacity
of a 10 year old, he needs a little help. He was so
happy when we were done and I feel blessed that he
wants my help. Some days it is not this easy.
I was digging in my cedar chest for the first time in
many years and found 2 brand new blankets that were
wedding gifts 43 years ago. There are so 70's. I washed
both and one was on the bed last night. A real trip
down memory lane.
Have a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping by.

Love a good heavy snow! So glad that you were able to help your son with a tree. It's true that sometimes they want help and sometimes it's "hands off" emoticon

The comment about wedding gifts brought to me that I have not sued a few of mine towels and sheets! They are also so 70's, very early as we have been married 47 yrs. Greens and golds so popular then.
So glad your DS got a tree up. Sure does raise the spirits.

Happy your son was willing to have you help him with the tree. I know some days are more difficult than others but when things go right, it makes up for all the bad ones!

Hope your holidays are merry and bright.

Great finding your wedding gifts! I have MANY of ours, too! 43 years ago. Still using crock pot (right now!!!) & towels &&&&. Happy your son wanted your help, precious memories!!!

Check out my newest blog, dated today! (here's a little bit of it!)

emoticon 12-3-18 Happy Monday! emoticon Busiest times for me (& I'm sure you, too). Several volunteer marionette performances ( & rehearsals) , the LV Santa 5K, Christmas Parties, hikes & fun, fun, fun. PLUS work emoticon of course! The weather is cold 35 emoticon in evenings & highs of about 55. emoticon My focus is on health, for me AND DH. He is doing ok, back still hurts him, but PT seems to help! I'm still doing all the errands & leg work. But I don't mind, I love him so much & he keeps the business going on his computer. It works for us! "Be the health you want with what you have to work with, & I will too!" a quote by me!

I am glad that you got to help decorate with your son. Instead of decorating with my homemaker, I am going to wait for my son. Have a great week.

Your son is so fortunate to have you so close! I know it hasn't been easy, but you are so important to him.It was icy here yesterday when we went to church but greatly improved just a short time later! Cold but the snow on the roads melted~Hallelujah!

It sounds like you had an enjoyable Sunday. Our side of the storm fizzled out; it was mostly rain/sleet/wind and we have about a half an inch of snow on the ground this morning. That's OK by me!!

    Enjoy your Monday! emoticon
