Things just got real.....

I will be turning 40 on May 5, that means I only have 158 days. And let me tell you.... I do not want to start 40 at the weight I am at right now.

Back in 2015 I lost a bunch of weight and was actually the lowest I have been in a very long time. But slowly the weight started creeping back on and I am almost back to where I started back in 2008 which is not good.

The little line that everyone always says, "It takes time to get the weight off, but it doesn't take long to put the weight on" is so true. (I didn't say it right but you get the idea....)

I have tasted what it feels like to be thin. I felt awesome at the weight I was at back in 2015 and still felt awesome in 2016. I want to get that feeling back. I want to start my 40's off right. And I have 158 days to do so....

So you can't do this without a plan. Having a plan helps you stay on track. Helps you stay accountable. I really want to reduce my sugar intake because it has been through the roof lately. I also want to watch my sodium and carbs. I feel like I am eating too much processed food and my body has not felt healthy at all. I need to get my eating controlled again, measuring everything, tracking everything. And I need to drink more water.

For my workouts I want to get running more. Running has always been my passion and lately I am only fitting in a run or two a week. I have been doing more classes which is fine but I need to get back to my roots. I also need to start lifting more because I saw the most results when I included a couple days of strength training into my week.

I have two gym memberships so I need to make sure I am getting in my monthly dues. I need to make sure I hit the YMCA everyday during work and then also kickboxing at least once a week. I could afford more since I missed a couple weeks in there.

I will do this.... I can do this....

I am going to start 40's STRONG and HEALTHY!!!! 158 days and counting.......

    Awesome that you have two gym memberships especially now that winter has set in. You can do this!!! You'll be fabulous in your 40's (goal or not - because you're a great person!!!)!

    I turn 49 December 29, you have nothing to worry about. I enjoyed my 40s!
