CC and Samis

Tuesday, November 27, 2018

Cydnee and Sami were best friends pretty much from birth. Their relationship gave a whole new meaning to "soul mates". Two peas in a pod. A perfect balance for each other.

It's so weird to me that they are now both gone. The truth probably is that neither was ever that happy without the other, and it was always a huge hole in their lives if they weren't together. So I get that.

Cydnee's daughter India was Sami's most beloved child. Tho she loved so very many babies, in her heart of hearts, India is/was the most precious of all, because she was Cydnee's. And now India has to grow up without them both here, even tho we will always tell her stories about her mommy and auntie.

Today is one year since we lost Cydnee. Sami's been gone now for two and half. And you know what?
I'm grateful. I am so deeply grateful I got to watch them grow up together, to love them both so very much, and to be a part of their lives.

So as much as I miss them, I honor them and all they meant to me and to so many others who loved them.
Love you Kidney, love you Shami, love you both forever.

I love your attitude, being grateful for the precious moments that you had with each of them. These photos are lovely and anyone can see how much they meant to each other. You are very brave to share and certainly an inspiration to anyone who knows you!

There comes a point, when going through the grief tunnel, that you hitch a ride on the gratitude train. That's the moment of crystal clarity of how lucky we are to have had them in our life. Doesn't make the grief go away, but it DOES provide some soothing balm for the aching heart.
