Our blizzard was delayed about five hours, so began at midnight. I know, because I peeked out the window. We now have about five inches and it is still coming down, right from the north. IT is days like this that I praise God for letting me retire.

I am just staying indoors and paying bills. DD has an appointment with the kidney surgeon later in the week, but I have no plans to go anywhere until three appointments next week.

I brought my Christmas card rubbermaid container upstairs while doing laundry this morning. I will probably start doing them tomorrow. I am so grateful that I have electricity. We get high winds, blizzards and gale force winds off Lake Huron throughout the year, so power outages are fairly common. It has made me fanatical about keeping things like laundry and using my vacuum as soon as possible. I never take them for granted. Today is a stay-at-home day to get things done, empty more boxes of decor that were in the basement. I cleaned a lot of shells and stones that we have collected over the years from Whitefish Point and other beaches in Michigan, and put some in a decorator jar of water on my mantel yesterday.

I am slowly getting things back to where I want them after the paint job, so I know it takes time and I am in no hurry anymore. It seems like just a few years ago that I gutted my bathrooms and decorated them, but it has been almost 17 years! Borders and other dated things are not going back up here. I like new, fresh and my own creations.

I'm glad you are retired too - and only a tiny bit jealous! LOL... Stay safe and warm, my friend. Big hugs.

I hated to have to go to work in bad weather. I rode a bus to work when the weather was bad, but I had to walk to a bus stop.

We didn't get near the snow you guys did. JUST enough for me to shovel (1") hoping we don't get anymore!

I love being able to stay home when the weather is not great. We get very little snow, but it gets cold and quite windy here. That wind just cuts like a knife. When I'm inside and hear it howling around the house I'm thrilled to be retired.

Ya, here in Chicagoland, stayed in jammies and drank coffee most of the a.m. We got about 8 inches and I did shovel a bit, cleared a path for mail and to our cars. It's suppose to get warmer later this week so it will melt....hopefully. Yes, I smile cause I too am retired!.
