W8 - Summary

Sunday, November 25, 2018

Well, Thanksgiving is over. So glad. I somehow managed to love 0.4# as well... which seems simply impossible given that:

1. It was Thanksgiving
2. I ate cheesecake for breakfast (ok, two pieces of cheesecake)
3. I ordered Indian takeout
4. I have loads of stress
5. It was Thanksgiving (did I say that already?)

I am grateful. I can't believe I've been doing this for two months. It's been a long time since I've stuck with anything. I haven't lost any clothing sizes, but I know that my current clothes are fitting a bit looser than they were two months ago. I'm looking forward to losing that first size.

I have been thinking about dialing it up a notch... maybe looking closer at my food choices, or formally adding in movement (ie: gym), but I also don't want to deal with the January Gym Crowd. I do need (ok not need, want) to do something to increase the pace of loss... 10.6# is something that I am proud of, but I can't deny wanting to see bigger movement on the scale. This loss feels sustainable, however. And that's different.

I also went for two walks this week. Minnesota has been spoiled with some non-winter weather this week, and it was warm-ish enough to go on a short walk around the neighborhood. Feast for my eyes with all of the holiday decorations.

Here's to week 9 and what I will accomplish...

W8: -0.4# (total -10.6#)
W7: -1.2# (total -10.2#)
W6: +0.6# (total - 9.0#)
W5: -3.0# (total -9.6#)
W4: +0.2# (total -6.6#)
W3: -1.4# (total - 6.8#)
W2: -3.6# (total -5.4#)
W1: -1.8# (total -1.8#)

emoticon on your progress and sticking with it.

As a way to add movement into your life without going to a gym, have you considered using some of the available YouTube videos for working out at home? I use Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds videos (I have a couple of her DVDs - nearest gym is about 30 miles). Also Jessica Smith does some and has some here on Spark. Spark also has a selection of videos for working out at home. Most of these are fairly easy to do and require little or no equipment, so they are pretty user friendly.

These would be great for winter workouts and by the time the weather is better, the gyms would no longer be crowded with the New Year's resolutions people.

Good luck on making a good choice for you and keep working on your health.
