Busy day today! Started with a retreat at SVdP for the Board of Directors and our Voice of the Poor group. Was an informative retreat. Discussed the difference of charity and Social Justice while dealing with the problems we work with our clients. This lasted until noon. Spent some time changing closet from summer ware to my winter clothes. A friend then brought us a bowl of beef stew. I was just trying to think of what to make for dinner when they called. Was perfect thing to heat up after we got back from church. We went to Mass tonight so that we can sleep a little later tomorrow morning, and so we can get to our PSR class to set up before the kids arrive. After asking for prayers for our niece at Mass, I had four people come up to us who talked about losing loved ones to drug abuse. They moved because because of the stigma of the deaths. It was kind of comforting to realize that our case is so common in recent times. Sad that it is so common. Such a waste for so many people and so much pain for the people they leave behind. The temps here have plummetted down to the teens. So tomorrow is going to be make a pot of chili day. I think chili and some corn bread might be a great way to combat the cold temps. Since I got up early, I am going to head to bed early. Hope you have a great Sunday! I look forward to working with my kids for their first Reconciliation. It is 5 weeks away.

Sounds like a good day, you so deserved it. Hope today is like yesterday, and the Chili sounds good, I don't fix it often cause hubby don't care for the beans, yes, a man that doesn't like chili, but then he doesn't like soup of any kind. He was raised on Meat, Potatoes, and Vegetables, for meals, but NO CHICKEN, cause his dad wont eat it so no one ate it. hahahaha funny how that carries over. We always had chili with grilled cheese sandwiches at school, some had chili with cinnamon rolls, weird, and you have it with corn bread, was that a hold over from school days or your mom? Or maybe just your taste?

Bob, I'm so glad that your Saturday was as good as it could be under the circumstances. I pray tomorrow will be a little better. I am continuing my prayers for your family. I don't know a family who hasn't lost a loved one to drug abuse. My cousin lost her son this Summer and it is so heartbreaking. I hope Brad is doing as well as he can be under the circumstances and he is in my prayers every night.
