Yo Adrienne, I did it!

After a chaotic car ride in the pouring rain and fog, and a turn around because I left my wallet at home, a pit stop at Dicks for some goo, sweat pants for after the run, we finally made it to our hotel...we hadn't eaten since lunch time so we opted for the restaurant attached to the hotel and it was fantastic! My sister and I ordered a few random items and shared. The butternut squash soup with pesto and walnuts was delicious. The eggplant with fire roasted peppers and ricotta delectable, the ricotta dumplings, superb and the fries, well everyone knows you're supposed to carb up before a big run right? Yummy.
Got a great sleep and headed out the door in the chilly temps to the Rocky 1/2 Marathon for 6am. It was 2 races combined. A 5k with a 10 mile run starting at the completion of the 5k. You could have chosen to do one or the other or both. if you did both it was the Italian Stallion Challenge and you receive 3 medals. We went for the whole enchilada.
Despite not training the past few weeks, due to a foot injury, we did alright. I am quite pleased with my performance for my first 1/2 marathon. Afterwards we headed home and hit the best pizza joint in town for an ice cold beer, fried mushrooms and pizza with mushrooms. My belly is full, I write these words then off to nap for an hour before my 90 minute massage!
Yeah I went to to toe, the whole distance and feel like a champ...except my legs, they are a little beat up right now..but sore means you went more - right! I am a contender!!!
