Drinking Water All Day is a Problem For Me

Monday, November 05, 2018

Why is it so hard for me to drink 8 cups of water a day? I have always struggled with this--not because I don't like the taste but because I HATE having to run to the bathroom all day long. It is particularly a pain when I am away from home because when the urge to pee hits, I have to find a bathroom immediately. And, Lord help me if I don't cut off drinking the water before bed time. Does this problem hit everyone in the same way or is it just me having a weak bladder? I am totally convinced that this is a habit worth implementing but I just can't keep having to run to the bathroom all day long.

Drinking water is a struggle for me too. I do find that it helps with weight loss though. I also find that when I first get back into the water routine I'm running to the bathroom a lot, but after a week or so my bladder seems to adapt and the urge to go lessens. Thanks for your post - it's a reminder that I have to get up and go get some water now.

I don't subscribe to the idea that one must drink any amount of liquids per day. I drink when thirsty, or with a meal. I don't know where the idea that one should have an uncomfortable quota to drink. Why?

I think this is a daily struggle for everyone. I start my day with 16oz of h20. I am usually thirsty in when I wake up and that is easy to get down. 32 oz usually is done by the end of my workout. When I am getting ready for my day I sip water .
