Plan for Travel
Oh, I wish that I could say that I was going to apply this lesson because that would mean I would be traveling some where. lol
But, if you are planning to travel, today's lesson is to plan a strategy on what to eat and drink about 1 week before you go and then to review it daily so that your plan will be on your mind during your trip.
Your strategy should focus on how close you will follow your plan, what exceptions you will make (i.e. allow yourself to indulge), and how much weight gain you will deem as acceptable.
Ideas for creating a strategy are:
Allow for extra calories
Follow your plan as closely as possible, but allow for minor splurges each day
Follow your plan as closely as possible daily, but allow for splurge on last day.
Ideas for not gaining too much weight are:
1. Exercise more
2. Instead of eating breakfast and lunch, eat brunch
3. Carry food with you
4. Use the strategies you have already learned while doing the Beck Diet Solution - eat slowly and mindfully.
On your way home, think about how you did and give yourself credit for all you did right. Plan your meals for the next way, etc.
One thing I have done when traveling is to bring my own food, especially if the place where I am staying as a refrigerator = salads. Most places have a microwave so it is easy to bring along foods that just need to be heated.
