Deform to Form a Star
Saturday, November 03, 2018
Title borrowed from the Steven Wilson album, "Grace for Drowning", which is divided into two sections, the first of which is "Deform to Form a Star". I am actually listening to a different album by Wilson right now, the splendid "Hand. Cannot. Erase", which has a track I was thinking of cribbing a title from, but I'm not quite living a "Perfect Life", nor anything close to it, so I'll save that for another occasion. I do quite like the idea of deforming, of breaking things down, whether bad habits, or lumpy rolls of fat along the waistline, in order to rebuild a better way of life, a better body, what have you. Sometimes you've got to break a few eggs to make an omelette, as they say. Well, i guess you always have to break a few eggs to make an omelette. And now my mind is off racing, wondering if there's any such thing as a vegan omelette. I suspect there might be, because there's always an alternative version of everything anymore these days. And 5 seconds on google clues me in to the existence and the myriad varieties of tofu omelettes, so how's that for instant knowledge gratification? Now where was I?
Oh yeah, breaking things down to build them back up. Very much a useful concept, for body transformation, or dietary reformulation, or career re...uh...rejiggeration. Think I may need to apply the concept, perhaps in all three cases.
In other news, the weight is a yo yo, as has been the case lately. A bout of pizza has sent the weight soaring 1.5 percent since the previous Wednesday weigh in. Although, if you ask the digital scale, it gives a different answer than the analog scale. As its answer is slightly more friendly, I shall stick to screaming in digital. Of course, that's the scale I've been using all along, so there's a very defensible argument to be made there, in terms of consistency, to go with the digital answer. But it does make me wonder.
Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, some little election is coming next week. Tuesday, I think. YOU'RE VOTING, RIGHT???*
*assuming you're eligible, registered on time, aren't having your rights suppressed, haven't already done so via absentee ballot, etc, etc, so on an so forth. Also must be a US citizen, small but crucial detail, that. (Although, I must admit that I cannot say for sure that no other country, or state, or city, or school district or dog catcher district is voting on November 6th, so that may not be entirely accurate.)
