Every pound lost is a success. Every single pound.
Sometimes, as I celebrate other people's weight loss, I can get down on myself. "I've lost 13 pounds since school started!" "I'm down 19 pounds this year!" "I hit my goal of losing 40 pounds!" I'm thrilled for people, but sometimes inside I compare my own progress and feel like it doesn't measure up .
I've lost six pounds since my fateful doctor's appointment July 30th. That's August, September, and October. Six pounds in three months. It didn't seem like progress at all.
But it's a consistent 2-pound loss each month. That's a half a pound each week. That means I could be at 150 on December 1st. Maybe 148 for January 1st? Wow. Now THAT sounds like progress
I guess it's not about how long it takes. It's about saying a long, slow goodbye to the excess pounds for good.
