We went out to dinner last night with extended family. I call them family because they are really special to us. My daughter was engaged to their son but God needed him more than we did. He was one of the many that we are closed to who have been called home at a very young age. So very sad for those of us who are left behind. We cope as best we can. My way is to focus on the fact that God needed them more than we did. Not easy for anyone but especially parents who lose their children. We live in a world that believes that we should out live our children and when that truth is taken away, it makes life so hard to accept. HUGS to anyone else who is dealing with such tragedy.
Anyway, I made sure to look up the menu online and make my selection before we got there. I chose salmon, baked sweet potato and broccoli. The broccoli must've went through an accident in the kitchen as it was way too salty and I couldn't eat it. My husband happily ate it as he likes salt. I had plenty of other stuff to eat and ended up taking some home. Sadly, I forgot and left it home so I don't get to enjoy it for lunch today.
Today, being Halloween doesn't really mean a lot to us since we don't have small children. We used to dress up at work but not so much anymore; only one person today. Not sure if it takes too much time and effort or if everyone has just lost interest. It's fun seeing other's creativity so maybe I'll suggest that we try to do more next year.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
