Where Does My Joy Come From... 10/25/18

Thursday, October 25, 2018

..... my best friend's Dad collapsed at home a few days ago. Turns out his arteries are so clogged and brittle, that one ruptured and bled for a while undetected. The damage was done to his legs, which he has barely any feeling in now. He can move them a little, but walking is out of the question. He is now waiting for a rehabilitation spot to help with learning to walk again. Hopefully on his own and not needing walking aids, like walkers or crutches. I could not be there to visit, since he is in Germany and I am in NY. But I remembered the power of Whatsapp and took my phone into my back yard, and videotaped a little pep talk with the trees in the background. Hopefully that can cheer him up. And I feel like I could actually do SOMETHING.

.....today we have a new girl starting at reception. I am encouraged to get more support, and really excited to teach her. I always try to be a good teacher, and help everyone. It will make the day to by fast, and we can certainly use the help.

.... hubby is home and we had a nice breakfast this morning. He loves classic music for breakfast since that reminds him of mornings with his Dad. I rediscovered my classic playlist I put together for myself on Spotify a while ago. I am not a huge classic fan, so I only put in stuff I really like, and I am actually enjoying it.

....yesterday we had our monthly hospital meeting. When it came to employee recognition, my name was called. Management had picked me and another employee to be recognized this month. We both got to pick a "prize" from the table. I took a little blue ceramic dish with a lid and the word "WOOF" printed on the front. It is perfect for little doggy treats for my naughty little poodle. That made my day!!

Yeah for the new receptionist. You know Ute it takes a special kind of person to do that job. Everyone thinks it is just so easy, until they walk in those shoes. It is like any other office that has a receptionist, because you are the front line as to how the office flows the entire day. I have found that some people are nice ( usually the majority), some are down right rude, some or should I say a lot are quite impatient, and then there are your ones that constantly need information regarding what ever is going on.

I hope this girl will work out and ease the load that you carry everyday you are there. Congrats for the employee of the month! emoticon

As for the classical music I really have to be in the mood to listen, and I usually play it when I'm driving, to calm my nerves.

Have a super day! P.S. The shawl is not what I'm looking for. I'm still searching though. I want to find something before the snow flies here.
