I got a great report at my doctor's office!
My A1C went down to 5.8! All of my labs were normal and above! I got a flu shot.
I got him to write a face-to-face report on my chart to fax to the medical supply company for a new C-pap machine. All mine does is blow air into my body. The heater died over two years ago, and I only fill the water tank every four days. It should be humidifying enough to fill every other day, so that tells me that it barely works. After I insisted that the medical supply company get me a new one, the woman finally told me the info I needed and that yes, I did qualify for one since I started Medicare last January! Previously, they told me I had to wait five years.
After researching my insurance and all of the extra premiums I pay each month over and above what I pay monthly to Medicare, I got the information I needed.
My doctor was not happy at all. I told him the story and he was disgusted that I paid into Medicare and Social Security every single paycheck since I was 17 years old. (47 years) and they gave me the run-around. That was not Medicare, it was actually the supply company!

I hope I do not get full dementia too early, if only to be able to research and get things I need, not want, but need, to try to stay healthy. I know I deserve at least that much.
I actually refuse some of the equipment when they call and ask me if I want it sent. I do not NEED it, it is "free" to me. I just want what I need; it makes me angry that so many people get these things when they do not need them then either sell them, or just do not use them. It hurts everybody in the end..
I told that to the woman and she sent me filters that I did not ask for..oy vey...

It sounds like you have a really caring doctor. I'm glad it is all getting worked out. I've never needed a C-PAP machine, but friends who have one swear by it!

Great job on your health and I am glad that you will get your CPAP parts. I agree with you about the Medicare offering back braces, knee braces and such and a couple of years ago, you could get a free phone from the government. I also get upset that some colleges are talking about giving a college education for free when others have student loans to repay.

There are many things I could gripe about, but it seems America is on a slippery slide downward.

I dislike having to deal with anything with the medical stuff, it is all so screwed up, it's like no one cares. It like pulling teeth out of a chicken, so many hoops to jump thru. When I got mine, for the first 10 days, my humidifier was full every morning, didn't use any, so I called the local place, and they just toal me to turn the know up , so tried that, and still nothing, then I care the 800 number and got an actual IT and she also said to turn it up, and I said it was on 5 and that was as high as it went, and that the warming plate was never warm, and then she asked if I turned it on, and I said what do you mean, turn it no, yes I pushed the button and the air started, then she asked if I had hit the other button to turn on the humidifier part, and I asked her what button, and I said no, didn;t know I had to, as the gal that showed about the machine didn't tell me, now every morning it is almost always empty. So that gal that was suppose to tell me everything about the machine, didn't even tell me how to properly turn it on. lol
